ONE OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS......

Meet 'Rosebud' One Of My Favourite Things......

Like everyone else I have a house with lots of things but also like everyone else I have some things that are extra special to me and of great sentimental value. This beautiful cloth doll is one of those things......

About fourteen years ago I met a wonderful lady called Barbara and we immediately hit it off and became firm friends. This was truly amazing to me because my best friend Barbara is beautiful and has that sort of blonde hair that always falls into a perfect sweep with what seems no effort at all. Me, I am short, chubby, look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards and usually heading out the door in such a hurry that I have not even put any make up on. So the fact that this sophisticated, well groomed lady wanted to be my friend was a complete suprise to me. On the surface we looked total opposites (imagine Danny Divito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in 'Twins') and I would understand others thinking we had nothing in common. But in fact we are kindred spririts and share the same birthday, different year but same day......

The wonderful doll you see was the very first birthday gift to me from Barbara, I was completely floored by her generosity and have treasured this beautiful doll ever since. Rosebud sits with pride in my home and she something that I will treasure forever and never part with......

She is an all cloth doll and I belive her to be French, she is original including her little onesie underneath her organza and felt dress. She has the most beautiful hand painted face, blond hair and the chubbiest of chubby cheeks. I also love how her little organza and felt hat frames her very pretty face. Thank you Barbara for giving me something that I truly love and treasure, your friend, Maureen......

Hello sweet Maureen, little Rosebud is adorable! And yes, I believe she has a French look about her... what a precious gift from a dear friend... I am sure your friend knows how beautiful you are too, who wouldn't want to be friends with such a lovely lady as yourself...Bisous... Julie Marie

Hi Maureen,
What a beautiful doll. I love all kinds of dolls, but my all time favorite have to be the cloth ones. There is so much detail in cute little Rosebud I just think she is truly very precious. What a wonderful friend you have in Barbara and I am sure she feels the same about you. Thank you so much for sharing. We should set up a play date for your cutie and mines :-) Have a wonderful day.

Blessings,
♥Ana

Hi Maureen!

I have been meaning to visit your blog since Friday and here I am finally! lol How are you my sweet friend? I hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I am a doll lover too! I just adore collecting them and making cloth dolls too. It's so much fun. How is your son? Hope he is doing well too. I see the etsy badge you are talking about. I will be adding one to my etsy too. So glad I finally joined etsy. I just adore the fabric you gave me. Thanks again and again.
Have a great day and talk to you soon!

Rosebud is just gorgeous! No wonder she is a favorite and add to that coming from a special friend, just doesn't get better than that!
Now I know how to describe my fashion - dragged through the hedge backwards! Thanks for the good laugh.

Rosebud is just precious Maureen! It sounds like your friendship is too. You made me laugh about comparing you two to Arnold and Danny in Twins. Too funny!
