HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONATHAN......

Jonathan age three......

Jonathan age nine......

Jonathan as he looks now......

When I look back it now seems incredible that 30 years have passed by since the birth of my son 20th February, 1980. THIRTY YEARS yesterday!!!

I honestly do not know where the time has gone and how I became so old. When you have a thirty year old son you can no longer kid yourself that you are still a young thing yourself. When I had my one and only child in 1980 I was 24 years old and was considered Mature for a first time mother. Boy have things changed a lot since those days. All the way back then they wanted you to have had all of your children by 25 and I an old lady of 24 was only having my first......

I cannot believe that this great young man is my son. If I could have come up with a wish list everything he is would be on that list. One of my favorite things about my son is his choice of wife. When Jonathan was only 18 years old he dated his FIRST and only girlfriend Tiffany. She was only fifteen at the time but perfect in every way for him. Now today they are happily married and have been for the last three years. I love the fact that they have dated no other and were blessed to meet THE ONE the first time around......

I wish my son Jonathan all the blessings that life has to hold. I would walk over hot coals for you and do it with a smile on my face. Ok, Ok, I agree, that was a bit much, remove the bit about the smile on my face!!!!

Luv you lots son......

P.S I have to add a last note and that is that my son has been holed up in bed with a stinker of a cold and a temperature. His request for his birthday had been one of my roast dinners (you can read my blog about cooking for the story of the roast dinners http://arosewithoutathorn.blogspot.com/2009/09/just-call-me-julia.html). Now it is postphoned until next weekend when he will then hopefully feel like eating......

Hi Sweet Maureen, your son is so handsome and yes, you are right, they grow up so fast, but we feel we stay the same!! How is that possible and where do the years go? Our first born is now 33yrs old. I was one month shy of 26 when he was born and I was considered old for a first time mom. I have you beat for sure. I can't tell you how many times I have thought about you and wondered what you are doing. I hope this finds Rueben doing well and maybe some good news about him too. Take care and let me know what's up when you have a chance, Char

I know exactly how you feel. My daughter turned 30 this year too. Its a weird feeling having a 30 year old child. But I was very blessed too. She is a wonderful daughter and has a wonderful family of her own. I hope your son has a great birthday.

Oh my, what a handsome man your son is! And I know what you are feeling. How can they keep getting older and we don't?

Mine will turn 40 this year and it just doesn't seem right. He still seems 5 to me.

That was a great post. Hope your son feels better real soon!

I know how you feel. My son is 40 and I feel like the same age, though I know I don't look like it at 60.
